Day 01 :

Cusco – Cloud Forest – Pachamama Ceremony – Chontachaca

Early departure at 5:00 a.m. from your hotel. After approximately 30 km, we will make our first stop in Oropesa, famous for its traditional Pan Chuta bread, prepared using techniques passed down since colonial times.

We then continue to the pre-Inca archaeological site of Ninamarca, before reaching Paucartambo, a charming colonial town, where we will enjoy breakfast at the Native Potatoes of Peru Interpretation Center.

A little further on, we arrive at Ajcanaco, the main gateway to Manu National Park. A short presentation will help us better understand the extraordinary richness of this protected natural area.

As we descend into the cloud forest, we will take time to hold a ceremony in honor of Pachamama, in the place where Mother Earth inspires us that day. This ritual symbolizes our spiritual connection and deep respect for nature and the living energies of the Andean rainforest.

We then continue our immersion in the forest, observing birds, monkeys, and hidden waterfalls surrounded by lush vegetation.

At the end of the day, we arrive in Chontachaca, located just a few minutes from our lodge, where we will spend the night in a peaceful setting in the heart of the Amazonian nature.

Back at the lodge, we will be able to enjoy the natural hot spring pool at 40 °C, perfect for relaxing after the walk.

As night falls, we will set out on a nocturnal excursion to observe caimans in their natural habitat, an impressive experience in the heart of the Amazon.

Day 02 :

Chontachaca – Patria – Atalaya – Aguas Calientes Lodge

After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., we will leave the lodge around 8:00 a.m. Just ten minutes away, we will visit the Patria market, where we can taste local bananas and other freshly harvested tropical fruits.

We will then continue our journey through Pilcopata, the largest town in the region, until we reach the port of Atalaya.

From there, we will board a boat for a river journey of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes along the Madre de Dios River. Along the way, we will stop on the riverbank to enjoy lunch surrounded by nature.

Upon arrival at Lodge Aguas Calientes, we will settle in before heading out on a 40-minute walk to the Amaru Mayu waterfall. In this sacred place, we will take a moment of reflection to practice a meditation and make a symbolic offering to the water, the source of life and energy in the Amazon rainforest.

Day 03 :

Parrot Clay Lick – Cocha Machuwasi – Amazon Lodge

We will wake up at dawn, around 5:00 a.m., and head to the parrot clay lick. Weather permitting, we may witness parrots and macaws gathering to feed on the mineral-rich clay, which helps them naturally eliminate toxins and parasites.

We will then return to the camp for breakfast, followed by approximately two hours of free time to rest or enjoy the thermal pool once again.

Around 10:00 a.m., we will leave the camp and travel upriver along the Madre de Dios River. After about three hours of navigation, we will disembark and begin a walk to Cocha Machuwasi, an Amazonian wetland ideal for observing birds and wildlife. We will also board a balsa, a traditional log raft, for an authentic experience on the water.

After an additional 40-minute boat ride, we will arrive at our Amazon lodge. Once settled in, we will take a guided walk along the trails to discover the richness of local plantations: banana, cassava, pineapple, papaya, cacao, among others.

At the end of the day, we will enjoy the sunset and then continue with a night exploration in search of nocturnal wildlife: tarantulas, insects, frogs, and other mysterious creatures of the rainforest.

Day 04 :

Hummingbird Garden – Local Tasting in Pilcopata – Reforestation and Butterflies – Return to Cusco

After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., we will leave the lodge around 8:00 a.m. to begin our journey back to Cusco. Along the way, we will first visit a hummingbird garden, where we can admire these brightly colored birds up close, symbols of lightness and transformation. (Optional: visit to a wildlife rescue center, subject to availability).

We will then continue to Pilcopata, where we will stop at the small shop of Mrs. “China,” a local resident known for preparing authentic exotic juices made from Amazonian fruits such as copoazú, cocona, and starfruit.

Later, in Chontachaca, we will take part in a reforestation and biodiversity conservation project. We will learn about the life cycle of butterflies in their natural environment, from egg to adult, and each participant will plant a host tree, essential for the survival of endangered species. This symbolic gesture contributes to the rebirth of the forest and strengthens our bond with Pachamama.

After lunch, we will continue our journey back to Cusco, a drive of approximately 5 hours, marking the end of this unique and unforgettable immersion in Manu National Park.
